Common questions

Everything people ask before they start — trial and billing, sharing, data, and what the app does.

Getting started

What SameNest is and how you begin.

One app for the everyday running of a home: shared finances, groceries, documents and a household planner — instead of five apps that don't talk to each other. See what's inside →

No. It works just as well on your own — your money, documents and week in one place. You can invite a partner, roommate or family member whenever you want.

A few minutes — create an account, name your household, and invite anyone you want to share it with. There is nothing to configure before you start.

SameNest runs in your browser and can be installed to your home screen like an app on iOS and Android — there is no app-store download.

Trial & billing

What it costs and when.

Yes. The 30-day trial asks for no payment details, and nothing charges automatically when it ends.

Nothing is deleted. Until you subscribe, the app is locked and takes you to the subscribe page — your data stays exactly where you left it.

$4.99/month, including two household members. Each additional member is $1.99/month, with no cap on how many you add.

Yes, any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.

Household & sharing

Who sees what.

Send them a link from the household settings. When they accept, they see the same shared data instantly — no re-entering anything.

No. Add as many people as your household needs; each one after the first two is $1.99/month.

Yes. Finances has a Personal scope alongside the shared Household one — anything you record there is visible only to you, including to the other members of your own household.

The household owner removes them from household settings. Everything the household created stays in the household — nothing is deleted along with the person — and they lose access to it. If they were included in the owner's plan, they stop counting toward the extra-member cost.

Using the app

What it does day to day.

Upload a CSV, Excel, or PDF statement and SameNest reads it, proposes a category per expense, and flags anything that looks like a duplicate before you accept. How finances work →

Yes. Google Calendar and other calendars flow into the shared week alongside household events.

Yes. Dictate an item straight from the add field and it lands on the shared list for everyone.

Upload a file and SameNest reads it, then suggests the folder it belongs in — one tap and it is filed where the household will look for it.

Privacy & data

Where your information lives.

You upload a statement file — SameNest never asks for bank credentials and has no access to your accounts.

Nothing is deleted when you cancel — your household data stays in your account, and you can download any document you uploaded at any time. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used to train models outside your household. Read the privacy policy →

Not as a one-click export yet. You can download any document you uploaded at any time, and you can ask us for a copy of your data or for its deletion through the contact page — we answer within 30 days, as described in the Privacy Policy.

On Render's infrastructure in the United States. If you are in the EU or UK, your data is transferred there as described in the Privacy Policy.

If it isn't answered here, write to us — a real person reads it, usually the same day.
